¹ Stop judging, that you may not be judged.

¹ Judge not, that ye be not judged.

¹ ‘Judge not, that ye may not be judged,

² For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.

² For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and the measure which ye give, shall be measured to you again.

² for in what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and in what measure ye measure, it shall be measured to you.

³ Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye?

³ And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thy own eye?

³ ‘And why dost thou behold the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, and the beam that is in thine own eye dost not consider?

⁴ How can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove that splinter from your eye,' while the wooden beam is in your eye?

⁴ Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thy eye; and behold, a beam is in thy own eye?

⁴ or, how wilt thou say to thy brother, Suffer I may cast out the mote from thine eye, and lo, the beam is in thine own eye?

⁵ You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye.

⁵ Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thy own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

⁷ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

⁹ Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asks for a loaf of bread,

⁹ Or what man is there of you, who, if his son shall ask bread, will give him a stone?

⁹ ‘Or what man is of you, of whom, if his son may ask a loaf — a stone will he present to him?

¹⁰ or a snake when he asks for a fish?

¹⁰ Or if he shall ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

¹⁰ and if a fish he may ask — a serpent will he present to him?

¹¹ If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.

¹¹ If ye then being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

¹¹ if, therefore, ye being evil, have known good gifts to give to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those asking him?

¹² Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.

¹² Therefore all things whatever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

¹³ Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.

¹³ Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in by it.

¹³ ‘Go ye in through the strait gate, because wide is the gate, and broad the way that is leading to the destruction, and many are those going in through it;

¹⁴ How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.

¹⁴ Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth to life, and few there are that find it.

¹⁴ how strait is the gate, and compressed the way that is leading to the life, and few are those finding it!

¹⁵ Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but underneath are ravenous wolves.

¹⁶ By their fruits you will know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

¹⁶ Ye shall know them by their fruits: Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles:

¹⁶ From their fruits ye shall know them; do men gather from thorns grapes? or from thistles figs?

¹⁷ Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit.

¹⁷ Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

¹⁷ so every good tree doth yield good fruits, but the bad tree doth yield evil fruits.

¹⁸ A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit.

¹⁸ A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

¹⁸ A good tree is not able to yield evil fruits, nor a bad tree to yield good fruits.

¹⁹ Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

¹⁹ Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

¹⁹ Every tree not yielding good fruit is cut down and is cast to fire:

²⁰ So by their fruits you will know them.

²⁰ Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them,

²⁰ therefore from their fruits ye shall know them.

²¹ Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

²¹ Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.

²¹ ‘Not every one who is saying to me Lord, lord, shall come into the reign of the heavens; but he who is doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens.

²² Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?'

²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out demons? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, lord, have we not in thy name prophesied? and in thy name cast out demons? and in thy name done many mighty things?

²³ Then I will declare to them solemnly, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.'

²³ And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

²³ and then I will acknowledge to them, that — I never knew you, depart from me ye who are working lawlessness.

²⁴ Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.

²⁴ Therefore whoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock:

²⁴ ‘Therefore, every one who doth hear of me these words, and doth do them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house upon the rock;

²⁵ The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.

²⁵ And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

²⁵ and the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell not, for it had been founded on the rock.

²⁶ And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand.

²⁶ And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand:

²⁶ ‘And every one who is hearing of me these words, and is not doing them, shall be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand;

²⁷ The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.

²⁷ And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

²⁷ and the rain did descend, and the streams came, and the winds blew, and they beat on that house, and it fell, and its fall was great.’

²⁸ When Jesus finished these words, the crowds were astonished at his teaching,

²⁸ And it came to pass when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine.

²⁸ And it came to pass, when Jesus ended these words, the multitudes were astonished at his teaching,

²⁹ for he taught them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
